For those who are very aware of the fashion trends and for those who like to buy designer items, Chanel clutch wallets are must-haves in their closets. They are very stylish to carry on their own as they always come in very tasteful designs. And even for those who keep their Chanel clutch inside their large bags, consumers still opt to buy authentic Chanel clutches because of their superb craftsmanship.

However, the market is filled with counterfeit Chanel clutch wallets. In a world wherein Gucci, Prada and Chanel knock-offs are as abundant as Starbucks shops, how can you be assured that you are buying authentic Chanel clutch wallets?

Here are some tips that will allow you to spot a fake Chanel clutch.

1. Check the spelling of the logo. More often than not for counterfeits, the logo inside the wallet where “Chanel” should be is replaced by “Channel” or some mutation of the actual spelling.
2. Poor craftsmanship is also visible in knockoffs. Check the stitch work of the clutch. If there are shoddy seams or seams that are unraveling, that is not a real Chanel clutch.
3. If the Chanel logo is made of silver on the outside of the clutch or on the clasp, check the material or the hardware used. If it is flimsy or it is easily bent, then that is not the real deal.
The place where the designer clutch is being sold will also tell you if it is a fake or if it is a real Chanel item. If the clutch is being sold in the back of a car trunk by a shady man with shifty eyes, then you are being sold a counterfeit clutch.
