Chanel 2.55 bags are classics. Coco Channel wanted it designed the way it was for her goal of reaching out to women even after her time – and she did well. Her bags were instantly a hit and they continue to be every woman’s dream bag. This is why Karl Lagerfeld, the main person behind Chanel now, has made it a point to keep the tradition going with Chanel 2.55 Reissue bags.

The original design has already evolved and become more subdued, but it still uses the legendary chain shoulder strap and the double C logo, which are the lingering elements to many Chanel bags.

The modern versions have similar shapes and sizes as the original, so only the discerning and Chanel enthusiasts will recognize the subtle changes. The following are the details that have somewhat been kept for the new designs:

• Quilted leather material
• Textured fabric
• Chain straps and chain details
• Double C logo

The material being quilted has been experimented upon and Lagerfeld has tried using tweed, calfskin, lambskin and ostrich leather. Despite the constant upgrades, the Chanel designer bags will always have the familiar elements like the chain, and there will always be a little black bag in the lineup.

Avid fans of Chanel will definitely not get tired of the classic designs by Coco. The more vibrant additions of modern times care of Lagerfeld are very much welcome and are certainly fun items to spruce up the fashion house. Chanel is Chanel, and its bags will always be the timeless pieces that they are.
